Picked up a 93 mk4 for a steal the other day even though it was N/A Auto. Plans to w58 swap and boost it this winter though... What can i expect to spend on my complete swap or would i be better off running my auto trans boosted? Labor can be done by me and my buddies. Can ecu, rear end and driveshaft be used? What type of power is the w58 good for? New to the supra world!!

W58 is like chocolate some people run 400bhp with 300-400 torque but it will always be on borrowed time.

Stick with the auto maybe get a tt auto and get it hybrid to handle the boosted power more reliably.

Cost though for the W58 probable lookING at 1000-1500 not sure on the cost of the box and parts.

Boosting it all depends on the kit you use. There are kits for 3-4k to turbo the na but you could go all out stand alone ecu etc and your bee looking at 10k++

How much did you pay for the car if you don't mind me asking? Just curious as to what is considered a steal, seeing you are in the states.

There are plenty of na-t builds posted here. just have a search. You will see what people have used and get a better idea of costs. It all depends on what you want from the car.

They're extremely hard to one by in the states. Im 20 years old and have only seen 2 before mine... 93K miles, 1 owner, full loaded with every option, 1A1 paint, every service record since 1993 including the window sticker. Interior is 10/10 exterior 8.5/10... paid 14k. Im considering grabbing a w58 and just having it built. It may be more in the long run but i don't want to hammer out trans tunnel or anything
