To paint or not to paint?

I will admit the supra has been neglected over the past few years so it is about time for some tlc. The carbon bits have become jaded and 'whitened' so I am thinking of spraying the bonnet the same as the car. Might replace the roof and boot spoilers too unless anyone has a good suggestion for getting them back to the former glory.

What do you guys think?

It's the lacquer they use on the carbon parts that fade! You can polish it out but only last a few weeks before having to be done again. Try getting them lacquered and they be good as new! Wait a few months then give it a good wax with some top quality stuff

No, it's the clear gel coat that fades.

If you lacquer carbon parts with 2k, they will stay fresh as long as any paint would, as it's the lacquer that's uv stable.

Some clear gel coats are uv stable, but most mass produced carbon parts are made with the cheapest materials available, to maximise profit.

Most carbon parts you buy are not lacquered
