Hi guys and galls. I am new to this forum and was looking to buy a supra. I have found one for sale for 9k. It is a very nice originally NA auto supra but the engine has been swapped for a 1jz single turbo aswell as being changed to a manual. This is the perfect price bracket for me as I have just turned 20:). Please could you help me out weather or not to purchase this supra or buy a NA manual supra and turbo it myself eventually.

Thanks

Welcome to the forum Elliott :)

To be able to post in the classified section and use the pm system you need to be a paid up member.

If you go to the top right of your screen, click settings, left hand side of the screen under "My Settings" then "Paid Subscriptions"

Cost is £10 for a year of £30 for life

Have you checked out your insurance yet? I'd imagine they see £ signs when you mention an engine and transmission swap.

There are a few manuals going for about 4.5-5.5k right now. Not entirely sure how much it costs to get the turbo conversion done but I think the leftover money should just about cover it.

You could also consider buying an auto TT. Don't be put off by the fact that it's automatic, I was at first but I bought it anyway and absolutely love it.

Theres a 1JZ auto popped up on here today for £5400, thats a much better price than a 1JZ single with manual tax for 9 grand IMO, and a better driving option for a young, rwd noob.

Who converted the car you're looking at? Are the turbo, manifold and parts quality or general eBay garbage? What ECU? Who mapped it? How old is the conversion? Many questions to be answered...

All of the above. especially the bold part
