View Full Version : Help with part number
Hi, I just bought my first ever Supra this weekend, a black non turbo import. Absolutely love it and already looking forward to getting a twin.
There is a problem with the electrics that should be easy to fix if I can get the right part.
The previous owner had his radio nicked:(
along with the radio they ripped out an ECU unit which controls the heating/air conditioning.
There are normally two of these silver metal boxes behind the radio and one is missing.
The car is a 1996 N reg manual and I can supply engine and VIN numbers if needed.
Does anyone know what the part number of this brain box is? In fact if you know what both box numbers would be that would be even better as then I know which one I have got left!!
Thanks in advance.

I expect that ecu would be quite expensive from Toyota.
Try Eurospec, (Mark), I know he had some a couple of months ago and I haven't heard they are a common thing that goes faulty so he might still have them.
His contact number is 01276 670628.
I just spoke to Mark and he is going to dig it out for me.
Thanks Matt you are a star.
You don't know how many ECU units there are on a Non Turbo and what their part numbers are do you?
Thanks
John

That's an easy one to answer in just one word:-
Pass ! :D
There are some guys on here with Toyota's parts CD rom that may be able to help.
Before you comment Martin, I know I have them, I just can't use them :stupid:
Its the light beige coloured ECU with 3 orange plugs attached to it if that helps?

That is the A\C Amplifier ECU. Sorry don't have parts disks to hand at the mo.
would that effect the heating and air con controls if it was missing?
Yes defenitely.......i doubt they would work at all !!!
Euro spec part number 88650-14270
J-spec part numbers:
08/1995 to 05/1996: 88650-14271
05/1996 onwards: 88650-14272
Not sure if I'm reading it right, however. If you search for p/n 14271 it brings up 14272.
Anyway it looks like there are a few different types :(
Thanks Darren :)
I owe you a beer
Out of interest, where can you get a parts disk from and how much? Or do you need to work for toyota?

You ask someone who has a copy and a CD burner nicely....
I think there's one kicking around on this BBS that's been copied so much it's gone see-through...
I don't have one though, because I don't even know where my engine is. If I have one at all.
Ok - if anyone who has a copy would kindly make me a copy, I will pay.
Not got a clue how much?? Say £20?
If anyone is interested - PM me.

I wouldn't mind one too...
A guy in the 200+ sells the full set of Toyota CD Roms going for £20...
Gaz.

:( I've got one but my PC doesn't like it :(
Still, I've just formatted the whole harddrive, so I can feel another attempt coming on :)
If anyone is kind enough, i'll have one too please. 20quid sounds fair. :)
Thats £60 for burning 3 copies.
Not bad for 5 minutes work - anyone?
I can supply copies of these CD's but it will have to be as and when i get time to run copies.
If you would like a copy please PM me your address and i will send them out as soon as i can.
This will be FOC or at the cost of a drink\burger if we ever meet at one of the events. :D

Cheers mate, PM on its way. :)
Thanks Martin. I have sent you a PM.
Coming back to the original thread.
I have found a parts dealer with the UK spec ECU (14270)
Will this work in my Jap Spec Supra?

Just thought I would sing the praises of Mark at Eurospec who provided the ECU unit for £10!!!
After being quoted from £50 to £200 elswhere.
Thanks Mark
(Thanks Matt for putting me in contact with him):) :)
