blert596
Guys/Gals, Any chance of a quick brief on all the abbreviations you use on here as im finding some of the threads really interesting....then getting completely lost. For example, I think Ive worked out that a NA is equivalent to a SZ....maybe. Is it because ones a UK spec and ones an import? And does J spec mean Japenese Spec. Differences between Aero and TT whatever????? Also some of the signatures soung great...unfortunately I have no idea what a decal, spats, or some of the more weird sounding things are. I'm willing to learn though if you have the time and the patience.
Supragal
NA= naturally aspirated i.e non turbo RZ GS SZ are all the model/trim levels of the supra, (I'm sure there will be a thread in the tech section with them in) some have leather, cruise etc SZ is always NA (so good assumption!) J spec does indeed mean japenese spec Aero = aerotop supra ie the removable roof! TT= twin turbo
Supragal
http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=14 this section may explain a few things... might involve some reading though!
Ian C
Also some of the signatures soung great...unfortunately I have no idea what a decal, spats, or some of the more weird sounding things are. Decals = the stickers on doors/bonnets/boots etc that say "GReddy" or "HKS" or whatever or are big swoopy pictures of dragons and stuff. Also know as graphics. Spats = the bits of bodykit that stick onto the side of the car behind the rear wheels. Sideskirts are the bits that stick on between the front and rear wheels. Ask away mate, we all gotta learn somewhere -Ian
Jake
Hi blert596 Did you mean 'Decat' rather than 'Decal'? (I guess Decat is more often listed in folk's Sigs) If so, decat means the car has had one or both Catalytic converters removed from the exhaust system and replaced with straight-through pipe. Any others you don't know?
pbryant_knight
As for abbreviations, I'd also like to know about the personal "in post" abbreviations. I got totally lost when first joining up here with all the crappy Jargon used by people that can't type properly:eyebrows: The common ones like LOL (laugh out loud) i got but then there were the others. IMO was one that took me ages to figure out (In My Opinion i believe) Then there are a load of others that i see cropping up. Could someone maybe do a list to help us folks that still value the prospect of using the queens English:innocent: Peter
