I would just do an itemised cost valuation because in the real world no one will ever pay for the amount that 7speed conversion has cost you let alone the cost of the rest of the car. They should accept that as they cant argue market value as its not as if they have anything else to compare it to

When i did my agreed value the insurance company asked for the cost AND receipt for all the mod's i've made and based the value on that.

So currently i have an agreed value of a like for like replacement at around 18k on a stock engined TT auto.

It should not matter what people think your car is worth, the agreed value is for like for like parts replacement, so your value should reflect that.

That's a tough one as we've not seen a setup like yours up for sale.

I think £20K is a bit high, even for a comparable single turbo with a V160 gearbox.

I'd say £17K or thereabouts is probably fair.

Seems to me people are throwing wild figures for Supras about at the minute, but I've yet to see anyone achieve the asking price.

I'd be very interested to see what people asking £25k + end up getting for her cars. Seems most end up breaking them for parts which clearly shows their not worth that much? (Sorry to go slightly off topic).

Well the view on my itemised value was what would it cost to buy that car in the state you did and do all that to it again given the current spec isnt immediately or commonly avaliable. Seemed to be ok for my insurance valuation

I'm not convinced they will accept an itemised costing at face value. That conversion is remarkably expensive all in.

This is what sky asked for, for me. Asked for receipts and everything, then they based their agreed value on the full cost of all items like for like, which the underwriter accepted.

Sorry for going off topic but where do you stand when you don't have reciepts, for my build most items were purchased on here.

With reference to value how much would it cost you to replicate the self same car if it were to be stolen?

Who is that with Ric?

I do an itemised agreed value on my car and I have never got a value anywhere near a real terms like for like rebuild cost for the car. My brake setup alone is around the £5K mark.

That's been with both Sky Insurance and Adrian Flux.
