MGB and V8 diff ratios and axles?

Does anyone know anything about MGBs and MG V8s? I'm asking for a friend who's building a rod at the moment, he wants wire wheels and hubs on it from an MGB, but doesn't believe the V8 did wire wheels.

Is the axle in the MG V8 the same as the axle in the MGB, other than the diff ratio? i.e.: Salisbury, Timken?
Would the MGB spoke wheels fit on the MG V8 axle?

If they're different what's the width of both?

V8 used 60 spoke wire wheels iirc, not the normal 48 spoke ones.

My friend did a V8 conversion into an MGB Roadster - just killed the diff though. He's going to have an LSD this summer I reckon.
Sadly he's on his honeymoon so I can't ask him about it :(
