Legality of non working repeaters

Im considering getting a set of US front side markers for my supra but was just going to fit them, and not wire them in for the time being considering there is actually no need for them on my Prefacelift supra, I just like the US look.

However is it a simliar situation as a rear 3rd brake light, if fitted they must work? Or would it be ok legally?

Anyone able to shed some light?

thanks

All lights must work if fitted you might get MOT guys humming at this comment looking for loop holes but there are in fact none.

But strictly speaking yes if fitted they must work if the vehicle is used on the public highway.

Its easy to wire them in it does not take long.

ok cheers anyway mate. I will only go though with it when I can be bothered to do some wiring. A Job to wait untill the facelifts arrive then.

Arent they reflectors? not lights :D

No they are repeaters on the front and running lights on the rear iirc

Yeah considered this but want them to be OEM so would rather just hold out and do all new lights on the front in one go.

Cut the holes, wire them in and paint your front wings indicators blue until you source some facelifts. All you have to do is lenghten the wing indicator wiring and the plugs are the same for facelift/us markers.
