Every time this build pops up I am more and more impressed Genuine no shit functionality.. when everybody whined saying he will never do it.

I can't see a combined exhaust intake pipe it looks like 2 turbos into two intercoolers and into the throttle bodies to me.

Then the impressive rocket looking exhaust pipes I think.

Does the bloke mention a intake/exhaust combo?

Actually I see what you mean now....

I'm purely guessing here but is it not possible (as this guy will likely be using aftermarket bigger valves and ECU) to match the valves in each cam side as required and swap the cams around on one block and essentially use an intake side an exhaust and vice versa?

I'm sure 1j and 2j use bigger exhaust valves then intake.

The combustion priciple is the same its not a be all end all which side you use as long as the ECU knows what to do on each bank of cylinders as the 1J and 2j both have injection mounted on the intake runners.
