I think the biggest shock for me was just how easy to drive the TTs are. Goes like stink if you prod it but very sedate on light throttle. Also, don't fear the jap imports (beware rust if it's been driven without underseal), if you talk to a specialist insurer I found they give almost the same price as for a UK car (about £20-25 different for me a year).

Big old list of things to look for here: http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?67644-What-to-check-when-buying-a-Supra

Hi tom

I was a cossie man and nothing could come close I had 4 in the end. Till I drove a supra. What you looking for. TT6 or auto

As for the stupid questions I wouldn't worrie about it mate I've been on here since 2008 and I still ask them. Welcome to the club

Got to be manual I think.

Wether that be an auto car and convert it or not I don't know. See what budget will allow once Cossie is sold. But think I've already spotted one I want!

People seem to have huge auto stigma don't they? I don't get it.

depends on the cars usage. If mine were purely a weekend toy, I'd have a manual. Daily driver/ long distance tourer the tiptronic is best, though you have the renowned speed limiter issue that is expensive to sort properly. Auto beats them both by a huge margin on price and availability.

Thankfully, there is a Supra to suit every use and budget :)

Welcome Tom. What type of Cossie are you selling? I've always had a soft spot for them. I remember travelling up to a Fast Ford event in a convoy of Sapphire Cosworths, happy days!

Hello Tom.

Ive still got my cossie and I don't think I'll ever be able to sell it.

Yours looks simply incredible!

What makes you want a supra?

Are you in need of more power?

I'd deffintly recommend driving an auto, I was dead against auto but I couldn't be happier with my UK spec auto now.

Looks like there might be a few gearbox swaps coming soon that will handle more power than the stock auto...and won't be as rare as a good manual box...

Just always loved the shape. Fancy something bigger power, properly quick and RWD.

One last hoorah before being sensible I guess lol

I'm not sure I could sell it. But it's advertised. See how it goes.

Needs to test drive a few supras I guess first.

I haven't completely ruled it out and if the right car came along I would consider it. But just preference tells me manual.

Then maybe in a few years get an RS6 or 35GTR then I've gotta go auto.

I love how you say 'properly quick' as if your cossie isn't quick enough haha

Deffintly see if you can get yourself to a few meets or find a car to test drive, will help you decide what you really like.

Like looking for any car, wait for one that's right for you, no point settling for somthing you don't like to start with.

Maybe have a look at importing one?

Torque gt down in Devon would be my recommendation for an importer.

Good luck with the search :)

Nice Cossie! You would probably have to break it sadly to realise its value I guess?

yes, that's the great thing about a supra. You can run 500rwhp all day long with a totally stock block and supporting mods of course.

Good luck on your hunt. You will be wanting manual if you are wanting big hp. Or possibly a powerglide for drag only action. Or an upgraded auto box for easy street driving and a little less on the hp front.
