The average car out there is 10 years old , they were all performance cars and bought as such by most people , i would imagine most have had a little fender bender and the panel gap is not allways that great on new cars anyway , so in short the answer to your Q may well be NO !!!! :(

Dude

Keep looking mate, there are some nice cars out there, its just a matter of sifting through the crap until you find them.

I had the same problem when I was looking last year, (I think most people seem to :() but eventually I found one.

What John (Dude) says is true, with a 10 year old high performance car you're going to be very lucky to find one that hasn't had some sort of body repairs in its time. If its been repaired well, you'll probably never know, and it's really not detrimental anyway, if its been bodged, it's obvious, just walk away!

My car's straight, £20k and it's yours :D

Panel damage is expected on all used cars, to some degree, but most of the repairs I've seen have been total crap and obviously done on the cheap.

Totally agree, don't accept second best as there should be some good ones out there.

As you say I've seen lots that have been poor IMHO, the age shouldn't make any difference if it's been repaired properly.

Yes, mine has had a new stock nose fitted (to get rid of horns) and another door due to a crease that couldn't be removed but they both line up perfectly and I wouldn't have accepted it back any other way!

Keep being fussy and keep looking :)
