ripped_fear Posted December 21, 2015 Share Posted December 21, 2015 Ok very brief question. I'm just changing the rad and overflow tank, and the water pump will be getting later next month. Am I wasting money putting new coolant in for the sake of a month. Could I just put water in for now, it wont be getting driven in freezing temps etc. Don't want to be causing corrosion etc in the new rad even if it is only for a month. Is it safe? Then when it's time to change the water pump, drain it out into a clean bowl or bucket, so you can put it back in the rad when it's time to refill the system. Yeah if needs must I will just seems pointless too if I dont have to. Will stick with the above for now anyway as I need to do the thermostat now as it seems to have stuck.
