Should I start a History ?

I bought my supe off of a forum member and without service history, simply because it was in cracking condition and all seemed as it should be. My Supe is now approaching 40k and I want to give it a damn good service and bring it inline with the 10k intervals, but I don't know who to get to do it.

I have a heavily modified MR2 Turbo aswell as the Supe, and they guy that does all the work\tuning for me actually works for Toyota technical, and REALLY knows his stuff. He also charges me very reasonable rates and gets discounted Toyota parts to boot. I trust this guy with my car implicitly, but if he services it, I still have no service history. Alternatively, I could use 'say' Sussex Performance Cars to service the car, they will give it a service and a receipt showing work done. However, they are not Supra or Toyota specialists, and I don't know them from Adam.

So I'm really in a quandary, service records will be helpful come resale, but the guy I use is great and will look after my Supra really really well.

A deely of a pickle huh ?

Any thoughts welcome !

Cheers

Matt

Hi Matt

I know what you mean, I don't have a proper service history as such. I do all my own servicing and just keep the receipts for what I spend.

By the way, when you said "10k intervals" what intervals is that? You're changing the oil more often than every 10k miles, right?

Service history to me doesn`t just meen stamps in a book. I am more interested in bills and receipts. I can see for myself if the work has been done well or not. Anyway, especially with Supras, a Toyota stamp is worthless as a good majority of Toyota mechanics i`ve met so far don`t know what they`re looking at anyway.
