Evening,

On the quest to make my NA as fast as possible I have ended up purchasing a TRD short shifter, and am now looking for some advice to ensure I install it correctly.

Removing all the bolts for the OEM shifter to be removed looks fairly easy from inside the cabin, and there is a retaining bolt under the car, (havent looked at this one my self yet.)

This video shows the removal-

Now my Kit is a genuine TRD kit, CLICK HERE and therefore come with some brilliant Japanese instructions :D Not particularly helpful for someone not fluent in the lingo.

Here is a picture of my kit-

So once I have removed all the OEM shifter what order do these new parts go, you can see in the picture it comes with a round collar and a round collar with 4 bolt holes.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Jake

Once your manual gear surround is off, you should see bolts to remove the rubber gaitor below, the inside the car bits are simple.

Underneath there is one bolt to undo, you'll need to peel back the rubber cover to reveal it and access is tight but it's doable, then you should be able to lift it out from inside. Can't remember from doing this if you'll need to retain some bits from the current shifter...

Thanks mate I think Im ok with those bits, and as I have a 5 speed and there for no lift up on the shifter I dont think I have to retain anything.

The parts I'm unsure about are where the new collar is positioned?

The video has it going on first from the gear box. The video however is from a 6 speed and im not sure if the additional plates are shifter specific.
