RobSheffield Posted February 7, 2005 Share Posted February 7, 2005 Do the wide body kits from MVP fit over the original steelwork of the wings? would it be possilbe to fit this with the Trial Rear and modellista front nose/bumber instead of using the MVP front, rear etc? it is priced at $4500 which isnt bad, after conversion. would 18" x 10" 'face 2' Volk GTC's then fit with normal large size tryes? thanks Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

CJ Posted February 7, 2005 Share Posted February 7, 2005 Wide body kits will usually comprise of the full wings etc and not fit over bits. The fit over type are the Veilside over fenders that screw into the existing arches. AFAIK, that is the only kit that does this, the rest are direct replacement. It is almost a racing cert you will need wider wheels or big spacers to fill the wheel arch. The other thing to consider if buying bodykits from the USA is the amount of shipping and duty although the duty can sometimes cost less than you anticipated HTH Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

RobSheffield Posted February 7, 2005 Author Share Posted February 7, 2005 yeah CJ, it does. nice to get a confirmed word on things. problem i have, is that i aint got one yet, im trying to decide what i want doing when i import one in APril/May. i like the trial rears, TRD carbon spoilers, Top Secret Carbon Bonnets, Do luck front bumper and bomex skirts. i also like the volk GTC's looking on MVP's site, i noticed that the GTC's come in two faces - face one is fine on supras and you can fit 285/35 tyres, the Face 2 (that i prefer) can only have 265/35 fitted. then i noticed the wide body kit, which looks like it might fit ok with the Trial rear, but i dont know about the Top secret bonnet and do luck front. the MVP site says the wide body kit will allow fitment of GTC face 2 i guess my question is 1-will just the wings (fenders on the MVP site) fit on their own with the other kit parts? if its only the wings it may not cost too much any legal(ish) ways to reduce duty?!
