Hello again everyone

Recently got 18s on the supra, it's still on standard suspension and sits high, now I wouldn't mind it for a while but standard suspension is very soft and everytime I hit a dip or bump my rear wheels scrape on the back arches

Now obviously the best route would be to get coil overs onit but I'm thinking of just sticking springs on, I have xxr 527's and they are quite wide so they do poke out of the arch by about 6mm, what do you gurus suggest ??

Hard springs that are lowered a little ??

Or coileys ??

Suggestions for brands welcomed

Cheers guys :)

I think you'll scrape on bumps regardless won't you? stiffer springs will help but when lower there is obviously less clearance so I doubt the increased stiffness will help and the range of motion of the wheel will be less but under extremes of compression it will still get to the arches.

Tyres that foul mean they are the wrong size, or on the wrong rims. Anyone who doctors the suspension stiffness or ride height to avoid this is just kidding themselves. Suspension is supposed to allow FULL wheel and tyre travel until it's on the bump rubbers, and also allow this to occur on both left and right full lock on the front end. Do you want a car that looks as you want it to but handles like a dog??? That could suffer tyre failure in extremis? That, in my opinion, should not pass a legitimate MOT?

I suspect the answer is yes, somehow, and I'm wasting my time :( People seem to buy aftermarket wheels on looks and cost, and to hell whether they are right or even safe.
