Looking at fabricating one into my supra after driving it and reading one on here that flipped think it will be a wise move.

The one I built for my BMW was from 51mm CDs tube but reading more into it it seems most are 40mm tube? I'm going to fabricate mine to tie in as much as possible but also be practicle for every day use. Any input, photos, sizes, problems would be greatly appreciated

I believe the required dimensions for a certifiable cage are 45mm outside diameter with a 2.5mm wall thickness or 50mm outside diameter with a 2mm wall thickness.

That may or may not be relevant to what you are thinking of, but it may be useful to keep it in mind.

Lovely thanks

Photos of my FIA certified cage here John. Chrome moly can use a thinner wall and meet FIA specs, and is a bit lighter, but it is VERY expensive in the UK.

Cage was put in a brand new factory R33GTR shell by Sonny Howrd, who does most of the fabrication for Safety Devices. Unknown to me, when I booked it in with SD they were then merely bolt in kit sellers, and no longer did their own bespoke fabrication. They let me drop it off at their premises, only for me to find out days later they'd taken it to Sonny Howard. SH did a great job with proper pedal box mount, column mount and proper FIA spec seat bars. He also put in proper air jack tubes. A very nice chap! They then had the shell painted underneath and inside, to a very high standard
