head unit help

hi guys, can someone help me, i've just taken the standard head unit out of my supra, haven't got one to go back in it yet (wanted to make sure i could get the standard one out first) all i need to know now is what all the wires are, there are two blocks, one has Red, Yellow, White, Brown, Green, Blue and Black on it and the other has Red, Yellow, White, Brown, Green, Blue, Black, Black/red, Blue/Pink, Green, Purple, Black and Light Blue. Any help will be much appreciated.

Red, Yellow, White, Brown, Green, Blue and Black

- these are for the power e.g. red- permanant live, yellow - live when ignition it turned on, black - ground


Red, Yellow, White, Brown, Green, Blue, Black, Black/red, Blue/Pink, Green, Purple, Black and Light Blue.

- these are the speaker connections

Thanks mate. got that connector that i was told i needed (part no PC2-17-4) but it won't fit, what's the deal there?

you'll find on most adapter looms that 2 out of 3 blocks connect to 1 of the new looms blocks (usually nissan, ford, vauxhall etc) if that adapter doesn't look right compare it too the one from 'auto leads' they are really the top dog on head unit looms .. all pre wired .. click click and away you go.

last resort cut and wire an ISO block yourself or go to any audio shop

what model do you have bud ... do you ahve the nasty standard amp ? as that is pre wired in the unit as well, though it wont be used for an after market unit.

got a 93 3.0 non-turbo auto. left the standard head unit out while i tryed to sort it out but the Engine Warning light came on so i put it all back don't think i'll bother changing it now, too much hassel. it's got a small box on top of the unit behind the dash, is that the amp? Don't think i'll change it now thougth too much hassel.
