Blue UK Spec 6 Speed Single

Hi Guys and Girls,

a new job further from home has led me to the difficult decision to sell my pride and joy.

I have owned the car for the last 15 years and it has been my daily driver for my 7 mile commute to work. :)

I purchase the car in 2000 as a stock UK spec 6 speed and drove it in that form until 2008 when I decided to do a full upgrade project.

I sourced and purchased all the parts from Dusty at MVP and the work was carried out by Colin and Marty at Supra Specialists Ireland who did an excellent job and there have been zero mechanical problems since that time.

The original PHR turbo was swapped over to a Precision 6266 CEA in 2013 and mapped to 1.60bar by Dimitri who many believe to be the best mapper in the business.

Some details below:

The timing belt was changed last summer along with new front brake discs on the Brembo GTs.

The front tyres are brand new and the rears are about 1 year old (3000 miles).

Good Bits

The car appears to be rock solid mechanically and has never given me a problem in 15 years other than the normal consumable items.

The exterior and interior are in generally excellent condition.

Bad Bits

The drivers side door has a minor blemish under the lacquer and the door edge is slightly chipped where the wind blew it open against the wall

The drivers seat side bolster is a little bit worn and the dye on the plastic trim has worn off slightly (the interior was originally cream).

There are a few cracks on the plastic trim inside the boot.

Generally the car is in excellent condition

It's actually a really good written advert and prices well for the spec! Can't see it hang around for to long

Thanks.

I have put a lot of time, money and love into the car so it is priced to sell.

If it was about money I could get a lot more by breaking it.

But that would break my heart.

Nice car Simon.

Only thing I couldn't see was any performance stats? What boost are you running? Any dyno figures?

How easy will it be painting the drivers door? Just curious if the custom paint can be replicated? Had a similar issue with my old UK spec due to flakes in the paint.

Looks like a lot of car for the money though.

Cheers.

Peter :)

Peter,

it was mapped to 1.60bar by Dimitri who I flew over from Greece.

I'm not sure what the exact HP is because it was mapped on the road (private of course ;)) and when I put it on the dyno a few weeks later it popped the intercooler pipe half way through the pull.

It made 525HP and 489Ft at 5500 RPM when the pipe popped so it should make around 600HP at redline.

The intercooler pipe issue has been resolved since then (by beading the pipe end) but I didn't feel the need to go back to the dyno to get the final numbers.

Regarding the paint, it is actually an off the shelf Auto Air Colours paint so it should be easy to do touch ups

I have priced the car to reflect the fact that I am in Belfast rather then mainland UK.

Although it is only a £50 Easyjet flight and a £150 ferry for the buyer to get it home some buyers may not want to travel

I would rather it go to a good home rather than sit in my garage gathering dust!

If you don't need the money or the garage space I'd recommend leaving it gathering dust. You only need look at Supra prices here and then compare it to the US or Scandinavian countries to work out UK prices are cheap but firming nicely.

Well I have my eye on another significantly more expensive motor and I need to sell the Supra to add to the fund pot :)

I'm not desperate to sell but the sooner it goes, the sooner I can go shopping for the new one

That's a poor reason. I just bough a significantly more expensive Ford Mustang that I'm importing from the USA. Didn't stop me keeping my Supra. You'll only regret selling, one day.
