Can any one reccommend a particular 6x9 subwoofer that I can fit into the standard toyota boot sub enclosure. The only ones i've seen are made by Kenwood but they come as a pair including an amp for about £200.

I wouldn't go with any of those... personally...

But then each to their own..

I'm sure there was someone who had build a sub in a box to use the space of the old sub area. Could be on here somewhere. Think it was an 8" sub that was used.

I thought about 6x9 subs, but they just did not sound right, so I stuck a phoenix gold 12" in there, sounds nice, but too big, so thats coming out 2moro to be replaced with 2 Audiobahn 8" subs..!! if you want so bass but want to keep some room, go 8" subs or even 6". I have a 8" sub in a tube at home and that sounded good to..!! just depends what you from from your ICE..???

I put three six inch subs in mine - had to build a small enclosure in place of the standard one, but it fits just the same - I'll dig out the supplier's details if you're interested - sounds damn good to me anyway... :music:

I was offered the same Kenwoods as you were with the built in amp - I don't think there are any other 6 x 9 subs available -

What stock Sub box..???? I never got one, was very dissapointed with the UK standard sound system, compared to the one I have in my MR2..!!!

SupraJames, the stock sub box I'm referring to was only available as an option on the US and J-spec cars afaik. I bought one off here, not after mega bass, I'm sure it'll be an improvement at least.
Currently have 2 way AVI components in the doors, 2 way Audiobahn components in the back and a Zapco 4 channel amp, just need a little improvement in the bass quality, hope it works. :D

Genesis do a pair of quality 6x9 subs that were recommended to me by a good audio place (who fitted my focul polyglass last year) as a possible solution to avoid doing a big boot build and save space etc
Not gone ahead with it yet, but when I do that'll prob be the route I'll go down. They're about £150 for the pair if my memory serves me rightly.

Edit: wasn't a bad guess on the price :p
