Had oil change...

Hi guys, had oil change at weekend, not driven car as it's got no back brakes at the moment.

Started it today and on startup, it's throwing out some really black smoke. Any ideas?

Also over the last week or two, when the car is warming up, instead of dropping revs once warmed, it's going up to 2k revs

Many thanks

Shaun

As above black smoke is unburnt fuel, check there are no disconnected wires or pipes in the engine bay. Have you left it running and see if it finds a proper idle ? Battery may have been disconnected and it's relearning.

Cheers baldy, I'm guessing there wouldn't be any under the car near where filter is?

It's starting to level out now on idle instead of going up to 2k idle. But on startup it's a bit spluttery, another thing it never did before the garage did my oil change

I would start a new thread for that one , not ever heard of that or a little more of an explaination would be better to help you ,

4k revs to get the car moving 4k revs on its own, it wouldnt pass 4k revs , when stopping its at 4 k revs when pulling away its at 4k revs ,

could you stop it in anyway ? if you have a auto bpu tt that would be one hell of a fast drive in and doing burn outs everytime you would have to stop.

what spec is your car ?

Think your calipers are long overdue some tlc going by that photo and i don't mean painting them :)

Funny you say that, got a rear caliper at THE BRAKE CALIPER SPECIALISTS, only been there 14 months, the last time I spoke to them last July, I was told I should contact them ask where they have put it as it never arrived.... I work for the courier, and have proof it made it there safely
