Matt_J
I am thinking of getting the Top Secret Type 3 bodykit. I'd like to know if anyone with a bodykit, has had problems with speed bumps, grounding etc.
Marco
Also depending on suspension of course. Mine is at least 1" lower then stock. Speedbumps is not a problem when going slow, but driveways with an incline or multistory parkinglots is a big no-no!!
Nic
My front bumper can be a problem over speed bumps and going up steep inclines eg. multistorey car parks, driveways. You can see how low mineis on the attached photo.
Matt_J
My soop has a very similar ride height to yours Nic. Problem is, I dont know how much it has been lowered by. My car was lowered by its previous owner. You soop does look so cool!

Matt_J
Paul, At the moment, my soop is lowered 110mm off the ground, with the standard 16's. I want to get a set of 18's & maybe the top secret type 3 kit. Is it worth raising the ride height slightly & if so, how much?
Matt_J
MfS, Do you catch your side skirts on these bumps?
cashpoint
Got the same bumper as MFS. Had it on std 17" and had to be very careful with kerbs and skirts did catch alot when it first went on then over time i learnt what i could get away with. Now i'm on 18" i the hit is return to normal as it grounds alot less and i can mount low kerbs.
Marco
MfS, Do you catch your side skirts on these bumps? No, only the bumper scrapes now and then.
Matt_J
Am I right in thinking that fitting 18's would slighty raise the car then?
cashpoint
yup correct
Matt_J
How much roughly going, from 16's to 18's?
cashpoint
If you keep the same tyre profile which you wont as it look crap around an inch. But as the tyre profile will change it depends on the drop in tyre profile. I think mine raised between 10mm to 15mm with 18"s on.
Matt_J
Thats great mate. Should help a bit. I think I might raise the suspension by 10mm - 20mm. I dont want it looking crap though. Problem is, I dont know how much it was lowered by. The ride height is 110mm from the ground.
