v6shep
Had my rear bearing replaced yesterday... Drove home, still have a loud rumbling and can feel it still too. Anyone have any ideas? I do know I need to replace that shock, but doubt that could be the cause
evinX
It is the shock. Push the car down and itll just drop. Mine would rumble like mad at low speed and on smooth roads it would be ok. Its probably 90% shot.

v6shep
Really? It will give the whole "bearing has gone" noise and feel? I would never have thought that. I've recently bought some standards off a mate that have only done about 50 or 60k, I'll fit those for now, but those you've posted where the standard make on my car, been looking for another set, best save some pennies once I've got 4 new tyres for my other rims Cheers for that
Dazzi
Have you jacked up the car and spun all 4 wheels?
Scott
As above. You really should confirm the bearing before replacing it. Often there are times where you are convinced it's the left when it's actually the right.

Scott
I just had front wheel bearing done on leon could feel it through the passanger footwell but turned out to be drivers side I was the same with the BMW. Happens all the time. Thankfully I had it up in the air to check before changing it

paulj1
It's not rust on the disc catching the caliper is it?
mplavery
Bet you need a rear hub .. which you will have to buy another bearing again
v6shep
Right, done the r/h bearing, replaced both rear shocks, spun the n/S wheel (no problem there) o/s brake, either caliper or handbrake seems a little crappy, although all recently replaced, and still got the same noise and feel. So, unless the front has a dodgy bearing and it's vibrating to the back (unlikely) then I guess the hub is the answer..... More cash I don't have right now
v6shep
Forgive me for sounding ignorant, but, could the vibration and noise come from the drive shaft at all?
Scott
It could be a number of things to be honest. Best idea is normally to get it on a ramp and see if it can be diagnosed.
evinX
Or could this all be down to a bulged/damaged tyre?
