550cc injectors into a J Spec Supra?

Hi guys,

I know this may have been covered before, but just wanted to find out whether I could replace my stock jspec 440cc injectors with UK spec 550cc injectors?

I realize I will need a resistor pack etc, but wondered if they would work on the current setup with little hassle.

Would I need a standalone ecu or would they work ok with 264 cams and hybrid turbos?

If I do need a standalone ecu what would be the cheapest option for a standalone? Not looking to pay out thousands for one.

Any help/advise would be appreciated :)

Regards

Ashley

That SAFC will work, but its not very high resolution, ie not that many tuning points. its old hat and very basic.

If you can afford one of these then it will be great for what you are trying to do as well as creating a nice fuel map it will also allow some timing adjustment as well as acting as a FCD and Boost controller (with an external solenoid). Great bits of kit and the software is very intuitive. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/DET3-ECU-Master-MAP-Sensor-4-0-bar-Digital-ECU-Tuner-3-the-best-piggyback-/321743588261?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_212&hash=item4ae9698ba5

Hi Shane

I've never heard of those units, how do they compare to an emanage blue or ultimate? Thinking how would it work on a single setup on a 1j

Can't compare them with the emanage as I have never used one, but I have had mine now for nearly a year and has transformed my car imo. I was lucky I guess as I used Nodalmighty (Lyndon) who used to be a trader just before he stopped trading on here to supply, fit and map mine and he knows the product well .

I see they have provide wiring details for the 1jz so someone else must have used one before for a 1J. I would think it will be usable on a single, I cant see why not, it has fuel maps timing skew etc. That may be the only stumbling block actually, I don't know how much timing adjustment you need, because this unit has a limit on timing mapping. Drop Nodalmighty a PM he may be able to advise.

I have just started getting brave enough to run the software and look at playing with it and its pretty easy to get your head around. I used to have a MAP ECU and that was very basic compared to this and the software was nowhere near as intuitive as the ECU master.
