The other week i got diagnosed with supraventricular tachycardia. (Nothing to do with the supra:rlol:) Got to have an operation where they burn some parts inside my heart to stop them working.

Dates been set for 2nd June and its just a bit of a shock really when i got the letter the other day telling me the odds in needing a pacemaker and the odds of a stroke. 1-100 for a pacemaker. Just seems such a high %.

I got to go and see the consultant in the next few weeks, but at 25 i don't want one of them stuck on me. I don't know how it would effect my life either. Do you have to plug in when the battery gets low or you've had it? I just don't know enough about it all so was wondering if anyone else on here has gone through anything similar or works as a surgeon?

Kind of s*****in in my pants really

theres a bloke i work with thats had pace makers for over 20 years now like you say the last about every 10 years but from what he was saying they are getting better now as tech moves forward, they are smaller and last long nowdays , doesnt bother him in the slightest now .

its just one of them things you can do it or dont do it , you could pay the ultimate price regardless but you have to go with what has the best odds for a normal life .

best of luck with it your a yong man im very sure you will be just fine
