Evening all.

Looking to fit my 1st decat, 2 decat and cat back exhaust soon to my NA (all pipe work 2.5") so just checking the gasket information.

Am I right in thinking I will need

-2 OEM for the bottom of the manifold- 1st decat

-1x 2.5" aftermarket 1st decat- 2nd decat

-1x 2.5" aftermarket 2nd decat- cat back

Thanks in advance

J

your 1st decat, is it the whifbitz style one or is it a full manifold all in one?

N/A first cat uses the fire ring gaskets which sit in a recess in the pipe, the aftermarket 1st decats are a flush flange so the oem gaskets wont fit

You will need to use an exhaust type sealant to seal those 2 joins

I had a mate measure me up 2 gaskets back when i had my n/a but it was blowing from both joins, if i remember rightly it was Paul from Whifbitz who recommended me to which sealant to buy and it worked fine

Yer thats why they dont come with any unfortunately

Loctite 5920 is what i used

The other gaskets you mentioned will be fine, its just the 2 to join onto the manifold

Is it as simple as squease a ring of it onto the join the clamp up?

So when I unbolt it I can just bin the OEM one then.

Yep, i done a ring on both the manifold and the new pipe, clamp together and let the car run for a short time till it properly sets

You probably wont get the oem gaskets out of the first cat anyway, they will crumble into bits more than likely

The o2 sensors are in the manifold runners so they dont need touching, the cat temp sensor on mine looked absolutely impossible to get out and cant be fitted to the decat anyway so i just unplugged it and left it off, if you do manage to get it out then i think you just tie it up out the way yer
