Well it has come to that time I should start looking into insurance for the Supra, I'm not interested in cheap but a good solid policy that will cover every aspect of my car with an agreed value and probably track cover.

My first choice is competition car insurance gunno give those a ring.

All options will be looked into :)

Thanks

I found competition car insurance to not only give me the cheapest quote but had excellent customer service too on the phone. They offered track day insurance too as part of the deal. The only reason I didn't take the policy out is because they didn't offer 3rd party to drive other cars.

I renewed my policy with competition for the fourth year in a row mate. Sky undercut them by £5 like they always seem to be able to do despite a rubbish initial quote, but the 2 track days included is too much of a bonus to switch.

I've found them polite and helpful on the phone also.

Can't see the black car being with anyone else anytime soon unless the other insurance companies drastically up their game

Cheap kind of scares me away a bit, are they cheap because they will try dodge a claim? I don't quite understand what third party means does this mean I can't drive the work van under the same policy but a separate insurance?

I can recall them being very polite on the phone the last time I enquired but I wasn't over 25 so turned out I couldn't take a policy out in the end anyway.

At the moment they're still my first choice but would like to see some other options.

I used to use CCI, got 5 track days a year which was good. Then they decided to double the price on year 3 and I left for admiral multicar.

What was the reason for the price increase maybe the additional track days do you think? Seems a bit odd they doubled there price for a long standing existing customer.

Was told a change to the underwriter or their rules, but went from 1000 -> 1800. Had already been with them for 2 years with the 5 track days a year. Then they increased and I left, not been back since.

Fair play I would have left as well mate.

Any other recommendations for a car this modded?

Also is there any thing I should mention ie things that they probably wouldn't ask but that when a claim is made it would be void as it wasn't covered?

I have just renewed with Adrian Flux and they were very helpful , they moved on price when I said Admiral would do it for a lot less and to be honest although the women kept pushing me to go ahead with the policy, they wanted my business and would call me back when I asked. Sky just didnt seem like they wanted me to take out a policy with them and they were just going through the motions of quoting

Are these all specialists in highly modified cars with an agreed value? Yes most will insure cars with kits and a bigger turbo etc but the amount I've invested I would like a policy a little more reassuring than just classed as "modified".

Like I said I don't want to come unstuck if something was to happen.

While on the subject I've been thinking about my no claims discount as I've not been insured for nearly a year, how long can you not be insured for before the no claims discount becomes invalid?

2 years, though some companies accept up to 3 years.
