I'm doing some window shopping for parts and what have you to improve my supra. It's currently got the stock hood with a carbon fiber wrap and I have recently been looking into vented hoods. However I'm currently having issues with my supra during the wet and damp weather as the car jitters/ stammers on start up until its warmed up and dried out a bit. I'm pretty sure its the coil pack or spark plugs getting wet and arching but I've also had an issues where I had water in one of the cylinders (somehow) and had to drain it. Can/ do vented hoods cause problems such as this or are there many drawbacks or even advantages of installing one? What are your thoughts? Cheers I wouldn't even consider it unless the car is kept in a garage overnight, and used in dry weather. In my experience, aftermarket bonnets are no lighter than the stock aluminium one, and never fit as well. I think you're just asking for problems by going down this road. I've got an Abflug. There was a recent thread on here where someone (DNK?) was saying that using any silicone product on your car can result in issues should you need any paintwork doing.
