Can you write me a price and how long it will take you to make it done? Write me PM if it's better for you ;)

Nope.

I do skinning using actual carbon fibre (2x2 twill weave) and an epoxy system before finishing off in a uv resistant lacquer.

Dave on here does the wrapping in 3m carbon effect vinyl.

Carbon skinning? Let me get this right in my head.

Most cars that use exotic carbon fibre parts do so to be as light as possible whilst still retaining some strength.

What you're suggesting is to add weight to the component to make it look like a poor imitation of something which is lighter, isn't particularly pretty and is usually painted over?

Weird.

Not sure on the carbon skinning side, but hydrodipping is water transfer printing to the object to be printed on.

Carbon skinning does sound a little strange but I am pretty sure people do it, so if you want it to be real carbon and are not bothered about the extra weight then I guess it works :)

Carbon skinning is real carbon, resin'd and lacquered just as real carbon is.

I can assure you know, it doesn't look like a poor imitation.

And 99% of people would not know the difference between carbon made and carbon skinned.

Carbon hydrodipped does look different to real carbon.

That sounds like a better job.

Still makes something heavier though.

It does, but only slightly heavier.

I suppose you could always get something skimmed first if you were bothered about the weight, don't know how much that would affect it.

I've had a few things carbon skinned, and you would t be able to tell the difference..
