Hi All,

I am looking to return to the Supra world after missing mine so much since selling 4 years ago....

I have found a 1996 Supra in Portsmouth. A UK car in Red which looks lovely. It is for sale with PCC... Has anyone seen It or know the car?

Also, is there a register anywhere of remaining UK Supras?

Im going to go against the general consensus above. It think that's priced OK-ish. It looks very clean and IF It has been well maintained and all history checks out the car is probably worth it if you can get it for around the 10-10.5k.

People are so quick to throw up cheaper examples that have sold, but when the cheap cars are listed people say they are to cheap.

You also cant compare this to a modified J-spec this is a completely different vehicle, Uk's will hold there money well being able to exported to Europe.

However history and Underside is key. Check it over carefully. Look out for all the usual parts being serviced, crank pulley, seals, gaskets, bushes, brakes, suspension etc

If you want me to try arranging popping down I'm sure I could give it the once over if the car is a long distance from you.

Whatever price it was I would want to see it on a ramp, a 20 year old UK car is more than likely very doggy underneath. If it has fresh underseal run like hell.

Personally I wouldn't touch a UK car, they will have seen too much salt, and many have been clocked, they were usually bought by the well heeled who did a

lot of miles in the first few years. Get a fresh unmessed with Japanese import, with no body kit, IMHO.

I'd want to see any mkiv on a ramp, there's lots of rusty j specs too that have debatable mileage with zero

history

If any of the history is Toyota it should be easy enough to check to verify whats in the

cars history book is true.

It looks a clean well presented car and well worth a look even at £12k in my opinion, if the mileage

is genuine and condition underneath is good it more than likely hasn't seen many winters actually

on the road, its done less than 4000 a year so stands a chance, more research req though for sure

Speak to Tyson (mod) on here regarding a UK register

Thanks- that was my thoughts really.... I have all the time in the world to find the Right Car!! (And I'm trying to find my wife's mums that she bought brand new as a dying wish too- but that prob won't be for sale or I existence lol)

This car sounds genuine and has all the history stamped up, well 15 with Toyota and Toyota Specialists. Due now but I would have it in our local Toyota Dealer 1st thing. 4 owners and this garage have sold it once before.

It's a 400mile round trip for me and Mrs just had our 1st child so time is tricky... But I don't think it'll go too quick and I'm holding out for 10k.

I've asked him to meet half way but no joy yet....

Previous reply to yourself... May take you up on a once over if I struggle!! Cheers

That's what i mean, a 2002 that has seen little or no salt is obviously preferable to a UK car 20 years of age. You need to view both, if driving 400 miles to view potential cars is an issue yo need to review buying V running a tired and possibly ropey example. Buying a MKIV is now becoming incidental to running one, parts are still the same price as when the cars were new, some bits are becoming unavailable. Proceed with caution.
