Guest jontaro Posted January 17, 2005 Share Posted January 17, 2005 Hello all, New to the Supra scene here in the UK, so I hope I can get some help on a small problem……. After a few years of happy motoring with the Supra in Japan, I had it shipped back to good old blighty when I moved back here. Unfortunately when I picked it up from Southampton docks the DVD Sat Nav had been nicked and I wasn’t a happy chappy. Now I have to make an insurance claim with the shippers. Of course, the Sat Nav wouldn’t have worked as it was J-Spec, but I used it to watch DVD’s mainly. Can anyone advise on a decent place where I can get some quotes for installation of a new system? I’ve been to a few local places (Finchley/Hendon area) but no luck, even from the so called Japanese import experts JEM. Also has anyone had to make a claim from a shipping company and what was your experience? I’ve been told there’s a £250 excess and it’s not new for old…so how do you get a quote on the installation of a second hand DVD system? Anyway, any help would be most appreciated!!! The Hornet Posted January 17, 2005 Share Posted January 17, 2005 I know someone who imports and exports quite a bit of stuff (nothing to do with cars like ) he has had a few little bits nicked before and claiming from the shippers is a bloody nightmare! Your best bet is ring them and find out who to send a letter to. They can't ignore things in writing (supposedly, but they still do) As for supply of ICE you wanna speak to Matt.... terribleturner Posted January 18, 2005 Share Posted January 18, 2005 Welcome mate. The places in Finchley/Hendon area that your talking about i think i know, and they are not the best places to go. Saying that the one in Hendon does do some bargains sometimes, but don't go there if you ned help or customer care as they are crap. (New Image at Pinner prime example) As Angie said, Matt Harwood is your man. You can find his name floating in the Ice section too. Also not that i've actually had dealings with them, but "Car Audio Security" on Tottenham Court Road. Think they advertise in Max Power/Fast Car etc....
