broomie Posted October 11, 2014 Share Posted October 11, 2014 I want to tidy up the paintwork on my facelift Gunmetal TT, need the roof, front bumper, door handles and wing mirrors painted. The work they have done on ours has been good but they do admit that it has taken them a couple of goes at getting the right match. They did my rear bumper after I caught it with a spade, clearing snow off my drive. It has slightly too much flake in the paint but I would be really picky to send it back. The wing (shadow in the paint from when I bought it), took two goes as in direct sunlight it looked terrible. In dull conditions it was perfect. Just rang them now as I am having the roof and bonnet done due to some lacquer cracking. They have just admitted to me that they have had the car for an extra week as they couldn't get a good match with 6N0 paint. They have had to use a paint camera and mix it by hand, they are now happy with the results. The car needs to be perfect as the new owner is coming for it at the end of the month. Also, my mate Mark, who is an excellent paint man and real perfectionist has asked me not to bring my car to him again as the paint match is a nightmare.
