is it a fake trd oil cap?

I cant comment on if it is a fake or not, but mine look like this. And it is not fake. Maybe they have changed its design over the years?

I think they were multiple fitment. I've no idea what car the oil cap in question was designed to fit, much like the one in your picture, but it's definitely TRD.

 

Have you never wondered why it doesn't sit straight on the MKIV?

 

 

Not the best picture but you get the idea. I think these ones may be the older variety as they are VERY hard to get.

Yeah it dosent sit straight, but at least it not leaking.

It feels kind a "cheap" when it screws on

Those are definitely TRD too, I've just always wondered if they were made for the MKIII or some other Toyota (Originally at least).

 

The part number of my cap is PTR04-12108-03

 

"Engine type: Fits all engines with NON-threaded Push and Twist style oil cap."

 

Looks to me like a "universal" cap

That kind of explains it then. I'm guessing mine is the same, just a fluke that it's square :D
