I am setting off tomorrow towards Germany to visit some friends and to Drive on the Nurburgring.

I will take the ferry from Hull to Rotterdam and then I will drive down to the Nurburg.

Any Suggestion for the trip?

I am not going to set a time Just for the experience.

I will keep this Thread updated with pictures and everything

Regards

Manos

There is every temptation to floor it the minute you go through the barrier and navigate the cones... Like others have said and like you yourself have mentioned, take it easy, it is a very dangerous track, the road surface can be very slippy and if you're running standard brakes be aware of brake fade and shudder on your first lap (you'll be using the brakes a lot lol).

But yeah, enjoy it and get yourself into the museum and the Go-Karts and there are some cracking track side viewing points just outside Adenau which let you stand at the barrier to watch the action!

Did my lap Yesterday, On one hand it was one morw thing that now is removed from my bucket list, on the other I was a bit disappointed by the car and by me...

The main problem was the A/T it is pretty cool for cruising but is pretty bad on the track, It's uncontrollable... The feeling I had was that I didn't had the power when I was needed it...

I also did a couple of mistakes and took wrong lines , but I haven't been on a track since 2009 :p

Next time I will be at least with a proper gearbox fitted in...

thats not the transmission that is the N/A :-)

you have 1st and 2nd gears, manu mode the only thing I would say an auto lacks is the feel of changing gear

And control over the available power, 1 it makes the gears too long and 2 kickdown is never good halfway round a corner, oh then engine braking, its a fact autos aren`t ideal on track.

If using manual mode you don't have kick down, I've only really ever needed 2nd and 3rd gear when using manual mode on the auto box, and you also get a bit of engine braking as well.

It's no DSG box, but it's still quite good if your not afraid to use (abuse) it. :)
