Hi all

Running a jap import TT which has 19" tyres with wide rear but they are making the car ride super hard, which tyre size is the best compromise for a bit of spirited driving and cruising can't carry on with the 19s doin mi head in!!!

As always thanks for any replies

18" with a higher profile tyre will help the harsh ride, what are your rim sizes also what suspension do you have ?

Use online tyre calculators to get the correct tyre sizes

7.0 inches-----195 mm--------205 or 215 mm-----------225 mm

Yep, agreed on 18's being the best compromise between looks and ride quality. Follow Dunk's chart, mine feels lovely and my wife has never complained that the suspension feels rough or hard. Especially considering she drives the Supra a fair bit too.

What width are your wheels ?

If they are stock width on the rear (9.5") and you fit a 255 50 18 tyre it will be 76 mm or 3" bigger in diameter

than stock which is not a good idea.

Any wider than 255 with a 50 profile and that figure will just get seriously worse

I doubt there are many if any 18 tyres above 255 in width that you can get

with a 50 profile
