Hello

Over the weekend I replaced my downpipe and my 1st Cat pipe with the garage whifbitz decat pipes :

I was expected that the car was going to sound louder and I was ok with that, the issue is that when I drive it and put the foot down, It sounds like it is blowing from the middle of the car.. If it wasn't that the sound would be ace..

I had the car on the garage for the last couple of days, the guy just called me and said they test everything, the car is not blowing, all the gaskets on the exhaust are fine and sealed properly,

what he said is that the new pipes are thin, so what i hear is a vibration...

would be any way that I could fix that?

Its definately the flex joint on the first decat, mine was the same and I spent ages and ages trying to find the "farting" noise by replacing joints, gaskets and even manifolds....I bought a couple of metre's of heat wrap and bound the shit out of the flexi .....hey presto, its virtually dissappeared ;)

Not a fan of the NA rasp at all, im double decat with a motoria exhaust - sometimes at certain points I get a Honda civic type *blowing a raspberry* type sound (hate it with a passion). Ive learnt to control it by getting a feel for the throttle and what sounds it makes when.

Let it soot up, put a few miles on it, and test it and the sound. I have a sweet spot where it sounds a little v8'ey, little bit of rip and deep grumble too

I also sent a message to Paul (Whifbitz), he recons that it should be a leaking, but my garage said that there is no leak anywhere, I will try what trebor said even if I think that the sound is comming from the middle/back of the car and not from the downpipe (where the flexi bit is located).

In the meantime if you have any othere recomendation please let me know.

Thank you all for your replies
