well I have been trying to get my crank pulley bolt undone and so far its not happening. I have an electric impact wrench rated at 450NM of torque but its not shifting it. have tried by hand but just bent the bar. Engine is out of the car so cant do it the way some might suggest!

Anyways I was wondering what sort of impact wrenches people had used to get their stubborn pulley bolt undone and what sort of torque rating they are? im thinking of hiring one that is rated to 588NM of torque and seeing if that will shift it?

Put the engine on the floor, use a locking tool on the crank pulley

Get a person or 2 to stand on the locking tool and use a big bar to undo the bolt

You wont do it with a gun, even a big air gun doesn't always work.

Thanks Lee won't bother wasting my money on an impact wrench then :D
