Guest oldmanam Posted July 20, 2014 Share Posted July 20, 2014 Hi, looking to buy a supra. Currently one for sale but one of the turbos need replaces, it's weeping at the seal. Does anyone know the cost of refurbished turbo? And the labour costs to fit them? Would both need changed? Would It be cheaper to refurbished the ones in the motor. You may get a recon done, but the front turbo housing is VERY prone to cracking across the "wastegate" port. I suspect even new ones from Toyota are really rebuilt as they now want an exchange unit! They never used to. Do NOT underestimate the price of turbo repairs. Unless it's a MINT VERY late car, unfiddled with, I would not want to pay much for it at all. And I can do all the work myself and know my way around them blindfolded... How much is it, how old is it, and has it been fiddled with?
