Fuel tank cover removal

Piece of cake, 4 plastic clips at the bottom of the bumper and 6, 10mm bolts on the guard. Should take about 10 mins if the bolts aren't seized. You'll be amazed how much crap gets stuck between the cover and tank so watch your eyes if laying under it when removing.

I think the bolts are all the same. 10mm. There are plastic screws too that hold the clips onto the rear bumper.

Just remember it's only the 10mm bolts you remove. The beefier ones hold the actual fuel tank on. Don't ask how I know that ;)

Did mine a couple of days ago.

Well worth the effort. What paint did you use? Looks brand new.

1 coat of anti rust zinc primer

1 coat of gray halfords primer

1 coat of saab black from halfords (had it for the daily driver anyway)

Still to put a clear coat on it. Again from halfords.

It's not perfect , still a few rough spots as I didn't have a lot of time and only 2 coats of primer on the inside but a lot better than before.

Looks good Marcus I got one from a member on here then had my friend who owns a body shop to strip it and spray it can't wait to get it put on as old one looks gross from behind

Cheers Paul, not put it back on yet but it can't look any worse than it did. Been bugging me for ages. Hope your happy with yours.
