I have never seen a bird turd do anything like that, I have had some on my car a few days before and it's fine.

If you use a DA then use the weakest pad and polish type you can first.

Also, it might be worth pm'ing either Peter Richards or Stonkin as they would give you the best advice IMO.

Try bug and tar remover (AS tardis is my preference) on the spot first, let it sit and wipe away with a damp cloth. Then use the DA, I've got rid of worse on that car, worse case scenario is you wet sand it and polish it back up. But I highly doubt it will come to that (unless it isn't bird dirt lol)

wasn't going to say this till later , but as some guys have suggested wet sanding , that's only if the polishing doesn't work , but remember sometimes this shit can go through the laquer and you cant get it even wet sanding which then would result in you going to far and buggering it up completely

Wet sanding.............never been so scared of doing anything to my car before or since.

A pro tip:

Try a hot air gun, and very gently warm the area up. Be very careful as it's easy to burn the paint, but if you get it right, watch it disappear

I had exactly the same on my spoiler in two places and it happened twice!!! first time I got the polisher out with some G10 and polished it out the second time I did the above which worked wonders.
