Hi Matt
I posted a message earlier on the forum regarding the fitment of an Alpine 9835R which I ordered from a US source. I have since cancelled this order after hearing some bad reviews on other forums regarding purchasing a unit via the states.....

Anyway, Merckx mentioned you as a source for stereo's. Basically I am interested in an Alpine for my Soop, and could do with some advice.

I have about £300 to spend, and originally went for the 9835R because it fitted my budget (albeit from the US), and was given rave reviews when I looked into it. Looking at UK prices, I dont expect to be able to pick one of these units up for my budget. Can you recommend a unit for my money? Is there a big difference between the Alpines (my preferred choice) from the 9835R and the 9833R/9831R, etc, etc? Or should I just stomp up the cash and go with my first choice?

Im not really ofey with the technical aspects of stereo's to be honest, but just want the best I can afford sound wise!

Thanks in advance for any advice - hope to hear from you soon.

Nick

p.s - Can I source from you over the next week or so?

The main difference between the CDA-9835 and the 9833 is the display. The features are pretty much identical, yet the 9835 will cost a fair amount more. Probably out of the budget you mention.
However, the CDA-9833R is IMO probably the best sounding and best value for money unit available to date. And not so far out of your budget...

I'll send you a PM.

Hi Matt
Just wanted to say a big thank you mate for your help with the 9833R stereo you supplied to me yesterday. Apologies for the poor description regarding the fitting advice!! Got there in the end....

The stereo is everything I wanted and more. My ears are still buzzing now after listening to it on the way to work. The sound quality is unbelievable!! I need to save for some decent speakers next!!

Anyway, cheers for your help mate.

Regards
