can you get 1 day insurance

Basically as the title says. Wish to buy a supra in the near future and would like to test drive it first and not have to get full years insurance

I couldn't get any for the supra nobody would cover it

Yeah google tempory insurance and there's quite a few companies that specialise in short term insurance, whilst getting a quote it will ask you for the duration in which you want to insure it for, some normal insurance companies will also add on a tempory car, I think it was admiral I was with when I rang up asking if I could add a tempory car for a week and they did for an additional fee but would depend on the company

That was when I added my GTO onto my supra policy and was about 3 years ago so not sure on the best places to try at present

day insure is another one. You might well find there is an issue though as the vehicle will not be in your name so in theory you shouldn't be able to insure it.

Be easier to have an insurance policy that covers you to drive other cars that are insured under their own policies.

Thanks all, will call my insurance, if they can't sort it out then, I'll check with the companies here.

If you are fully comp and have your own policy, some insurance companies allow you to drive other peoples cars with their permission. There are terms and conditions though, you must be over the age of 25, hold a full UK drivers license and all that, the car that you are driving must be insured, few other bits n bobs too. If you did it this way, you would be insured under third party. Only some policies allow this, so best to check.

Co-op do temp insurance as do admiral, not sure about bell and elephant, but pretty sure they are under the same umbrella

You may find it hard to get temporary cover if its an import or modified.

I used tempcover when I bought/collected my supra (however at this point I was then the owner of the car so needed a policy) - they do insure imports. Below is direct copy from their website:

"Can I insure an imported vehicle?

Yes, in most cases we are able to insure an imported vehicle. When you add your car registration to the quote we will tell you immediately if we are unable to insure the vehicle."
