Apparently there are different sumps on the 1jz but not both will fit into the supra .....which do you need and are the sumps easily obtainable and interchangeable ? I was under the impression that as long as it came from a soarer then it would drop right in? Are there any other cars with the 2.5 tt 1jz engine in?

Please forgive my ignorance.

Ok I can help.

The soarer runs the exact same subframe as the supra so the sumps are rear sump same as all the supra engines.

The MK3 supra also runs a 1JZ but is a front sump and people want them for other cars as the rear sump hits there subframes ( bmw - mx5 - nissans all want front sump)

So if you get a soarer either lexus or Toyota then its a pretty much direct install.

The only things id suggest to keep off the n/a supra engine is the mounts and get yourself a fuel bypass kit as the fuel damper only slows the fuel down and a pain to get the right angles.

As for gearbox the soarer gearbox runs off a cable like the accelerator cable and NOT ecu like the mkiv gearbox.

The mkiv auto box will not run on the 1jz loom, so if yours is auto youll need the auto box as well.

If you wanted to go manual then a W58 - V16- will bolt right on and the flywheels will fit as if its a 2jz.

if you need anything else just pm me, I don't do the wiring side but will help if I can.

Yeah pretty much what he said.. Although mk3 supra has the same sump as supra/soarer.. Not that you'd find a mk3 1j.. The JZX's are the ones with front sumps.. If you end up with a front sump, I'll buy it from you:)

Wiring is easy;)
