Hi All,

My name is Parm and I'm very excited about joining the forum. I love my cars fast and scary but I'm finding that its getting too expensive to buy a new car and then trick it out while all the time worrying about the warranty you've just lost. I've run a gen 2 911 turbo, M6 GC etc. all fast but normal at the same time and so I'm here!!

I'm going to be lurking around trying to learn the do's and don'ts and get some advice on reputable tuners and those to avoid.

I don't have a Supra at the moment but from my limited experience and knowledge my initial thoughts are to get a single turbo manual coupe. I will be trying to put big power into the car so I have been told that it would be cheaper to by an N/A auto car as the engine is fundamentally the same (single turbo it) and swap the gearbox for a manual.

Apologies in advance for any stupid questions that I know I will be asking:D

cheers

Parm

Hi Parm,

Welcome to the forum!

I'm also from the midlands, just outside of Cannock.

I started out with a NA Auto Aerotop, which I have modified. It is now running a Borg Warner S360 single turbo and manual gearbox.

My honest advice is, although I do not regret the route I have taken because of the Aerotop factor, It would of been so much easier and made more sense to buy a six speed NA/TT and then single it.

Hi Josh42

That sounds like good advice, did you use any local garages to do the work or did you do it yourself? Also did you import your car ? I'm looking around for the right base car but there's not a lot about. Thanks for the info be nice to catchup at a local meet, cheers buddy

Most definitely mate, I'll be organising a little get together in Warwick for the end of next month, you should come along!

I did all the work myself with the help of friends, bar skimming my cylinder head which I sent to a machine shop in Rugeley.

I didn't import mine, I brought it from a guy in Wolverhampton. I'm the 3rd UK owner.

Nice! Been awhile since I've got my hands covered in engine oil and slipped in brake fluid but it's always fun when you fire it up for the first time!! I'll keep an eye out for the meet, warwick is pretty close for me. Cheers all
