Cup holder mod

Over the last couple of evenings, I've been playing with a cup holder idea. It's almost finished, and should work quite well. I'm not totally convinced I love it yet, but will see how it looks when it's fitted in the car.

I took a mould of the centre arm rest cubby lid, and made a fibreglass copy. The damn thing stuck in the mould, but the mould survived and the part was being trimmed anyway.

Left is the original, right is the copy if it's not obvious!

This evening I've made the holder, and mounted it. Trimmed the part in leather, and made a cover cap that pops out when the holder is needed. It needs a bit of final finishing, and might grow on me once fitted!

Fuel hose directly connected to a spark plug would be the best mod for yours Graham! ;)

I might give that a try. I've been toying with the idea of the double declutch 6th gear entry method on a W58 too whilst at speed.

Awesome - is that a standard size cup holder hole? I've had trouble with large take away coffee type drinking vessels not fitting in some car's holders. My point being, make sure it's big enough for whatever you feel your max capacity cup will be!!

That looks smart. Looks like you made the mould very well too. If the cup or whatever you'll be using doesn't sit tight, most other cars have a little spring loaded mechanism that just folds in/out to make the grip round the object tighter, so it holds true.

Really good idea!
