Hi all, soon to be new mkiv supra owner here, living in the stevenage area of hertfordshire just saying hi.

Collecting my 1993 import TT tomorrow afternoon, and really can't wait. I'll try and post some pics tomorrow.

On the off-chance there are other members in the same part of the world as me, could anyone recommend a good garage to handle the servicing work (incl timing belt when it comes due)?

Hi all, thanks for the welcomes. Here are some pics of my new baby.

Jord: as you can see not stock, fair amount of work done on body (although the rear spoiler is ghastly IMO and will be replaced with something more in keeping with the original styling) & engine (361bhp according to dyno prints).

jcbt: thanks for the pointer, I've dropped Whifbitz an email to see when they can fit me in.

Hi there saw you posted in another thread you think you have my old car!thought it had gone to car heaven! As I said it was in a crash and the insurance company wrote it off, not sure if your aware of this! The frame number was jza80-0001469 can send you a picture! the wheels look the same as does the engine bay but the body kit is totally different! If you want any info let me know as still have all the paper work for the car!

Doesn't sound too good, why was it written off, what damage etc

Hi djg99,

I knew that the car had history as a write off, but it was listed as cat c and had received vic certification to confirm identity (vin matches the one you quote), and the car was priced to reflect that history. Would be interested to know what the actual w/o damage was though.

Sadly, whilst it seems structurally ok, my first action was to get Whifbitz to do full service incl timing belt (as I had no history) and that has highlighted more problems with the engine.... needs the sump seal done so got to have the subframe lowered to do that at some stage, and the engine will need rebuilding in the next year or so. :(

But ultimately owning & restoring one of these cars us a labour of love, so whilst I'm in for more expense than planned it's not putting me off the project. :)

If you do have the old paperwork for the car then I'd be interested in seeing that, I can give you an address if you'd be happy to send (or I could collect next time I'm down with family in your neck of the woods).
