I've always thought DVD players in the car were a bit silly, but at the same time really wanted one. I've never wanted to fork out with a huge amount of cash for something so fanciful, but what about this DVD player (http://www.ex-audio.net/shop/product_info.php?cPath=22_24&products_id=35) and this screen (http://www.ex-audio.net/shop/product_info.php?cPath=22_26&products_id=58) which would be £180 delivered?

It would fit into the double DIN and I could watch porn, erm, I mean films and stuff, in the car  :D

I knew posting that link would cost people some money :)

I've been toying with the idea of their 6.5" Caska double din DVD / MP3 Screen jobby but I'm still saving up....

lol :D

That double din one is nicer, but takes it to over £300.

Do you think the cheap ones are too cheap - is it going to be a crappy picture that breaks after a week?

The double one appeals because you can have it in the car without covering up any of the dash when the screen is out, seems like a feature rich setup but the lack of security scares me a little.

I suspect they will be decent enough units, obviously not of the same standard as £1000 stuff but at that price you can afford to take a risk, the same units are often found on UK eBay for far more and people don't seem to have any complaints.

The same chaps do a lot of trade on eBay - 3481 feedback with 98.9 positives.

Definately worth getting a few orders together to save on shipping costs.

I really feel an impulse buy coming on :eyebrows:

Can anyone tell the difference between this (http://www.ex-audio.net/Inventory/Oslon%207%20TFT%20indash%20V70F69A/images/Oslon-7-indash-V70F69A.jpg) and this (http://www.ex-audio.net/Inventory/7%20TFT%20indash/images/7-TFT-indash.jpg)?

One's got audio input - but that doesn't matter to me as it'll all run through the amp. It's probably just down to looks between them - and I can't decide that either

Bugger - getting carried away now.

I'm thinking I might as well get a headrest screen for the wee one in the back.

Anyone know what's involved in a "headrest mounting kit" - I'm sure I've seen ones with bands that go round the headrest, which wouldn't work in the Supe would they?

i had a similar one in my mr2 previously and it was fine.... except my dvd player kept losing it's settings for some reason and the motorised screen kept irritating me as sometimes i just wanted it to be left out but as soon as you turned off the car, it folded up and went to sleep :(

My little sis has a std dvd player in her clio, cost £150 but just plays dvd's if thats all your into.

I would seriously consider in car PC for multi function stuff i.e, Films, Music, Games, sat nav etc etc. Prices are not bad either, got my install for cost of approx. £1200 but had to fit it all myself :(

You need to set up a group buy mate...get everthing that you bought in a package and see how much for 5 or more sets and see what the interest is.
I could be, I just dont fancy having to shop around for all the bits to make up the package. BTW what about radio receiption on pc's...how does that work? and can I just plug into the existing stock amp and bin the multichanger?

radio is still a bit of a touchy subject yet but can get an excellent set up for around £700 with touchscreen, talking gps, phone control, automatic video camera's etc.
and it will plug straight into amp or audio in on head unit

I bought one of ebay, with a seperate screen etc...

It didn't have standard connectors so had to cut into a loom i bought..

It then smoked when it was on the radio...

So i sent it back..

Got stung with the import tax and the shipping costs to send it back....

I wouldn't buy a stereo abroad again :-(

I have only heard bad things about these, over heating, screen going blank, etc. Deals that are too good to be true usually are I find, you usually get what you pay for, especially with electronics.

What about a touch screen on of these, connect up to a CARPC?

I like the idea, but wouldn't want one bolted to the dash, one that hides away sound cool though.
