What type of indicator bulb in fog light?

Ok so putting indicators inside the main headlight where the fog light used to be.

What type of indicator bulb do you use?

From what I have been Reading it's not that simple, you need a bulb that really kicks out some light to penitrate the fog light lense

Thinking about it....if no one posts what they used, you could use the old fog light bulb and convert it to led.... That way it would fit like standard plus be real bright

I drilled the hole out slightly on mine, so the standard size bulb fitted and wedged the bulb in there lol not the neatest but it works

H3 amber bulbs you are after. I've seen LED versions in China.

So just to clarify, you used the standard orange indicator bulb from the indicator? If so What attachment did you use at the back to actualy attach the bulb to the headlight?

Also do you find it's bright enough?

It passed the mot but tbh i personally dont think its bright enough, especially on a bright day, i just wedged it in tbh, i know not much help right il try and sort a few pics over the weekend

If so, it must be a coincidence. I just like the letter/number combo

Any brightness should be OK as long as it's visible. The MOT is very lax in this area, as long as the indicator signal can be seen from any 120 degree angle, its a pass (that's off the top of my head from 2004 though )

Yes, H3 is fog bulb, for jap spec, I'm not sure if uk is different.

Supra_ufo has done this and it passed an MOT fine. Fire him a pm if you need any more details.

With U.K. lights, a capless orange bulb or a clear one with a waft of orange rattle can, fitted into the side-light works for me.

There facelift David so the only option would be to paint the bulb which won't last long!

One of my bulbs is a rattle can waft over and is still fine after 3 years.

Would the standard h3 bulb last long as an indicator do we think? (If I painted it orange assuming)

Halogen 55w get a lot hotter than the 21w I'm using.

Stock ones only have 1 wire. I believe it earths to the casing.
