Hearing loss with Supra ownership

This might be considered a daft discussion but after driving the Supe home from family (1.5 hour drive at ~80mph) I had that "cotton wool/semi-ringing" in my ears feeling.....like you've been at a loud club all night. Anyone else experience this?

Also, at a certain rev range and certain throttle (think about full in 3rd)...it creates this almost unbearable wall of noise (passes very quickly) untill it gets above 3k rpm.

Supra driving can be unhealthy :p :D

There is definately a zone where the car touches on the perfect frequency to give you a numb head, on my auto it tends to be at about 85mph with the overdrive on, the rev range just before the 2nd turbo comes to life seems to be the worst place to cruise on mine but it sounds lovely :)

Try sound proofing... I cant hear my Dragger unless the windows are down even flat out... The only thing hear is tyre noise and that I believe resonates in through the suspension set up. My car is quieter than my friends 5 series, the only down side is it will add 30Kg to your car. Do a search for sound proofing in the ICE section there are lots of posts there, it will cost you about £200 and 5 hours of your time for a quiet motor : ) Plus your audio will sound so much better! I have a friend who went a step further and sealed the underside of his car in addition to the usual soundproofing, he reckons it's close to silent now!

HAH lol whats the point in having a loud exhaust if you then go and blank the noise out ? I wind my windows down specially to hear the noise heh heh. OK it can get a bit tedious on a long trip. I generaly find however that its not my ears it hurts so much as my kidneys. The resonant frequency at low revs in my N/A was terrible, you could physically feel your innards getting buggered up.

Dunno about owning a Supra but on xmas day a fella in a Saab convertable had the roof down both wearing santa hats pulled along side me on duel carriage way signalled the game was on so I booted it second turbo kicked in and I think he may have been defened by the pure sound of a Greddy Ti racing exhaust. Albiet not for long
