Turbo seal gone?

As title says, have the turbo seals gone, (xs t61 yeah i know..) so recently the car has decided to ploom a bit of smoke out on idle and after you put your foot down and come to the lights, i pulled the air filter off the front of the turbo and there is oil on the silicone another indication turbo seal has gone anyone confirm this please?

Is it worth finding somewhere that would rebuilt it or just buy another turbo, also who rebuilds them? and is it save to drive until i source another

usually the oil seals are like piston rings on the shaft, so when people say the seals have gone it generally means that there's play in the bearing and thats where the oil leaks from.

Check the play at the compressor end first by hand before trying to remove it because it looks like an absolute of a job to do in situ to me.

yeah i rang TD (tuning developments) and they said its best to take the turbo off and let the company that they use inspect the turbo, and see whats happens price wise he said around £300 unless theres play in the bearing and then turbo may aswell be scrap! i may have to look about aswell

so they want you to pay 300 for good will then? (otherwise known as fart dust)
